Girls Behind the Rock Show

Helping advance the music industry one woman at a time.

Who We Are

GBTRS was founded on the principle of female empowerment within the music industry. We are dedicated to helping artists and bands drive  empowerment and diversity in productive and positive ways, and promoting these initiatives throughout the culture of the music scene.

We collaborate with musicians, labels, and more to spread the message of empowerment and inclusion of all genders in the music industry.

We create opportunities for young women and non-binary people to learn the ropes of the music industry through initiatives like Roadie for a Day, Festival Immersion, and more.

We educate and prepare the next generation of women and non-binary people in music through mentorship in our networking group of over 6,000 members.

By the Numbers

The USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative reports that across 800 popular songs on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart from 2012-2019…

0 %
Female performers
0 %
Female songwriters
0 %
female producers
out of 1,093 producing credits went to women of color.
0 %
of Grammy Nominees from 2013-2020 were female.

We are working to level the playing field by improving access to music industry opportunities and resources for young women and non-binary people, no matter what career in music they want to pursue.

How You Can Help

We appreciate your support for our goal of making the music industry a diverse, supportive, and empowering space for all genders. Donate or buy our merch to financially support our mission. Girls Behind the Rock Show is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization.
