What was the first event you shot for?
Unofficially, Catfish and the Bottlemen in 2015. It was a disaster. Officially, Porter Robinson at Resolution Seattle this past January. Less of a disaster.

What is the most important thing about photography that you have learned since you started?
Master manual mode. And just keep shooting. My first show was such a disaster that I gave up. But I’ve learned that mistakes happen and you have to go with the flow and keep trying.

Words of advice:
Just try it! Everyone has a unique view and you won’t know what your’s is until you try.

What inspired you to pick up a camera?
When I noticed that there wasn’t a lot of female photographers in pop-punk/metalcore. For me that was a turning point, because it was just odd that such a diverse genre didn’t have diversity on the creative side. When I first picked up the camera, I wanted to prove to myself that I could do what the guys were doing. Now I’m doing it because I want to encourage other girls/women to get in the mosh pit.

What are some photography goals of yours?
When I’m devising goals/plans, I tend to keep it relatively simple. My photography goals? To take over the world, of course.

Words of advice:
Go for it! Post that weird and whacky photo or that artsy boudoir, photography has no limits or rules. Don’t think you have to take “x type” of photo to be a photographer.

When did you know you wanted to be a photographer?
I never had any intention of doing this professionally to be 100% honest. It was all for fun and the vibe of the crowd. I started off shooting nightclubs and events and eventually moved to festivals and now I do a lot of lifestyle and editorial as well. I love photography and that’s why I am a photographer.

If you could shoot any band/artist, who would it be?
I am an avid punk rocker so if we are going to be honest, I would LIVE to shoot any punk band in a traditionally grungy gross dive bar venue like CBGB (RIP!). Catch me dreaming about shooting Misfits, Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols etc.

Words of advice:
Keep going even if you feel defeated. I am my own worst critic, but keep going. When I started out, my photos were actually terrible, but I was having fun and I was fun to be around so I was given opportunities to keep going and as I pushed on I started to get better and better until I got to where I am at today.
