When did you know you wanted to be a photographer?
I always said that’s what I wanted to do when I was little – probably because kids always say they’ll be whatever their parents are – and in high school I learned film and really loved it.Wwhen I started shooting shows, I thought “someone should do this as a career; I should do this as a career” because I didn’t know it was already a thing!

What are some photography goals of yours?
I would love to go on tour some day, but as long as I just continue shooting for my own creative cravings, I’m happy.

Words of advice:
Just get out there and shoot. There’s not much advice that I can give other than that. It’s the best way to learn.

What inspired you to pick up a camera?
I was accidentally given a photo pass for a LANY show in 2016 and had fun shooting my first show with a borrowed camera. But seeing my favorite band, Flor, live the next year, and wanting to share that experience with others, is what made photography stick for me!

If you could shoot any band/artist, who would it be?
The last band on my bucket list is The 1975, but if I could only shoot one band ever again, it would be Flor!

Words of advice:
Comparison is the thief of joy! I used to scroll through other photographers’ instagrams and want to give up because my photos aren’t as good as theirs, or they’ve been on more tours, or their post got more likes. I was so focused on others that I didn’t see my personal growth and achievements. Everyone grows at their own pace. Just because someone else has success doesn’t mean you won’t.

What are some photography goals of yours?
To create something that is enjoyable to the eye. To capture an unforgettable moment.

What is the most important thing about photography that you have learned since you started?
Know your camera like the back of your hand. Knowledge goes a long way.

Words of advice:
Never be scared to ask for help. Find creatives to look up to, and don’t be afraid to reach out to them and ask them questions. Invest in a full frame the first time around, you’ll be happy that you did. Lightroom/Bridge/Photoshop is your best friend. If you don’t know something, there are a billion YouTube videos on it! Most importantly shoot your shot, there is a world of creatives waiting for you to join us!
